A Miracle Worker – Thank You, Gary and the Team at Excel Physiotherapy! Six weeks out from my first ever marathon, I was in a world of trouble. After training for over six months with the usual niggles, things suddenly took a turn for the worse—excruciating knee pain would hit anytime I tried to run further than a half marathon. It felt like my dream of running a marathon was slipping through my fingers. That’s when I found Gary at Excel Physiotherapy. From our very first session, Gary brought a level of care, professionalism, and expertise that immediately gave me a glimmer of hope. I walked in thinking I’d left it too late, but Gary took on the challenge without hesitation. Over just six weeks, he worked with me intensively—assessing, treating, advising, and guiding me every step of the way. His understanding of sports injuries, particularly in runners, was spot-on, and each session made a noticeable difference. What really blew me away was the level of personal commitment. On the day before race day—his Saturday morning—Gary came in just to strap my leg and make sure everything was set for the big day. That kind of support goes above and beyond and speaks volumes about the kind of person and professional he is. Thanks to Gary's incredible help and the support of his lovely staff, I not only made it to the start line—I crossed the finish line and achieved something I once thought was impossible. My first marathon was one of the best days of my life, and I owe a huge part of that to the team at Excel Physiotherapy. If you’re dealing with injuries, especially sports-related ones, and you want to work with someone who truly cares about getting you back on track, I couldn’t recommend Gary and the Excel team more highly. Over the course of my appointments with Gary, he has also worked out that by strengthening the muscles around my 17 year old hip replacement, it will assist my shoulder and it really has. Gary always makes me feel comfortable and the receptionist is always very helpful. Thank you Gary! Mel Davison2025-08-01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gary is an outstanding physio and a genuinely nice person. After years of struggling with recurring back issues, Gary quickly got to the bottom of the reasons why - my habit of crossing my legs - which I have now stopped. What really stood out was the time he took to listen. He provided a tailored set of strengthening exercises for both my back and core, which I’ve now incorporated into my training routine. A really thoughtful touch is how he records you doing the exercises on your phone, so you don't forget the correct form. All of this has helped my running as I can now run without worrying about my back. I can’t recommend Gary and the team highly enough. If you're looking for expert care with a personal touch, Excel Physiotherapy is the place to go. Tee Cee2025-07-23Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thank you Gary. Gary got me back running again following my torn calf. Thanks! Ryan Bowman2025-07-11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gary has been an amazing physio helping me strengthen and release muscle pain within my lower back / hip while getting me ready for the London marathon 2025. Within 7 weeks i went from struggling to sleep due to muscle pain to being the strongest i have felt while taking on running challenges, while winning a football cup final in-between. Brilliant work by excel and very accommodating during emergency if unable to attend your appointment.
